Description

Bonito are shoaling fish and can be found close to the backline all the way to 1000m of water. Bonito prefer clean water and is often found on the surface above rocky structures. A good indication of Bonito being in the area is seeing small sprats preyed upon by game fish.

Tips – Bonito are fussy feeders and often difficult to hook. Our most successful way to target this species is by trolling a daisy chain at around 30-50m behind your boat at about 12-14km/h.
