Our Refund & Returns Policy – We trust that you would be more than satisfied with your purchase but if you’re not, you’re welcome to return or exchange your purchase within 10 working days from the date of your purchase for a full refund.
Please make sure that the items you purchased are unused, not damaged and in its unopened, original packaging.
All returned goods are inspected to ensure that they are undamaged, unused and in the original packaging. The Kingfisher reserves the right to refuse any returns that are damaged, used or opened and no refund or exchange will be authorized.
Once we’ve given you the go ahead, please return the item to our office or alternatively, you can come into any of our retail stores with your order and our staff will gladly assist in exchanging the item or refunding you accordingly. Please bring your invoice along to make the process seamless.
The Refund & Returns Policy process detailed below provides more information on how to proceed.
Damaged Items or Order Errors
We strive to ensure that we have despatched the correct items you ordered and that your order is adequately packaged but order errors and damages still may occur.
Please inspect your delivery and take photos or videos of the damaged item as this will assist us with our courier company.
Please notify us of any errors, damaged or defective items within 10 working days and we will arrange to have that item collected from you. We will gladly exchange it for the correct item once we have received the incorrect item back.
In the interim, please do not use the item, keep it in its original, unopened packaging, otherwise we will not be able to exchange the item.
Our team will be in contact to arrange collection of the item from you.
Non-Returnable Items
Certain items that we sell cannot be returned or exchanged unfortunately in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. These items include:
- Items we have specially sourced for you; or
- Books, magazines or other periodicals, or
- Gift vouchers;
If, however, your books or magazines have arrived damaged, we will replace or refund them when we are at fault.
Sale Items: No returns or refunds on sale items will be accepted.
Gifts
If you received the item as a gift, we’ll happily exchange the item should you request that. We will need the original invoice or purchaser to send us that information so we can assist.
Warranty Replacements
All our goods have a 6 month warranty against manufacturing defects in terms of the Consumer Protection Act of 2008 (the CPA). Please get in touch with us so we can assist you.
The item will be assessed by either the supplier or ourselves, depending on the item and further information or images maybe requested if necessary.
If the product is found to be defective, we will either repair the defect, exchange the item or if this is not possible, refund you.
A product defect specifically excludes damage arising from the following:
- Damage arising from normal wear and tear;
- Damage arising from any alterations to the product;
- Damage arising from negligence, incorrect use or abuse of the product;
- Damage arising from inadequate care that could reasonably be expected

Refunds
We’ll inspect the item once we have received it back at our office. Next steps would be one of the following:
- Repair of the defective item;
- Exchange of the item;
- Refund of your purchase in gift vouchers if you choose;
- Refund of your purchase via EFT;
Refunds are processed at the month end payment run.
Shipping returns
To return your product, you should mail your product to: 53 Hunter Street, South Beach, Durban, 4001.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
